|Welcome to HMP Kilmarnock|
The Scottish Information Commissioner
It is the role of the Scottish Information Commissioner to promote the public's right of access to information held by Scottish Public Authorities. The Commissioner is also there to investigate when authorities don't appear to comply with the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 or the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004.
HMP Kilmarnock are new to Freedom of Information, and we won't get everything right first time. We will, however, learn lessons from decisions which are issued regarding our performance under the Act.
You can find out more about the role of the Scottish Information Commissioner, and read decisions which have been issued, on their website at http://www.itspublicknowledge.info/.
